The Empire of LEGO Town: 10184 Town Plan [News]

Cafe Corner. Market Street. Cement Mixer. Recycle Truck. No longer is the Town theme reserved for endlessly repeated police stations, firehouses and construction vehicles. 2007 has been a truly awesome year for LEGO Town, and it only gets better. Feast your eyes on this set that can only be as a masterpiece:

10184 Town Plan

Check out the Classic-Castle thread for more discussion and pictures.

EDIT: More, high-quality pictures are now available on BrickJournal.com, including pictures of the interior (some pictured below).

For anyone who didn’t know, the man pictured is Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, grandson of Ole Kirk Christiansen, the inventor of LEGO. 10184 Town Plan is a remake of 248 Town Plan Board. The boy seen in the original set is, in fact, Kjeld.

Hi, I’m new here and I would like to say that is the finest gas station ever. Are the cinema signs stickers?

    He is no longer CEO.

And the picture you have is terrible. lol

I think it would have been a lot better if they just released the three sets seperatly. The gas station is great, the movie is cool, but the other thing sucks, and for the $130ish I’m guessing it will go for I think it should be better.

In 1955 (So says the Ultimate Lago Book) the FIRST LEGO System set was called “Town Plan” and Kjeld was pictured on the box! (a different picture then that one…) That was when he was a kid…
This is a remake of… well as far into the “Old Days” as you can get!

    Wow. We’ve come a long way…

Anybody notice if the railing stands outside the cinema are new pieces? At first I thought the bottoms were just 2wide radar dishes but they seem to be holding old school black skeleton arms . . .

Hi Corey, welcome! The LEGO Company generally doesn’t provide too much detail on when and where sets will be available this far in advance, but most sets do end up available from the LEGO Store online, so I wouldn’t worry about it. :-)
