I’ve been keeping an eye on Simon‘s LEGO Boba Fett costume project for a while (and yet somehow missed his great LEGO Star Wars minifigs along the way), so I was very pleased to see the completed armor.
This may be the coolest homage ever to the beloved bounty hunter with only two four lines in Empire Strikes Back:
That’s right, Simon has built a complete Boba Fett costume entirely from LEGO (except the jump suit and cape, of course). The outfit includes a helmet, jet pack, chest plate, and blaster. Amazing stuff!
Oh my… could this be too far or perfect?
Uh, wow. That’s friggin amazing. I’d be deathly afraid of pieces falling off though.
Ramone-
“He’s no good to me dead.”
*clinkity clink clinkity*
“Crud. Hold on a sec…”
*Boba Fett stoops over to pick up little colored bricks*
Wow, that has the really uncanny effect of making him look like a life-size LEGO sculpture. I’d love to see THAT idea implemented again; if someone can come up with an entire wearable suit of LEGO and wear it to BrickCon then they win. Because they could hang around motionless in a corner, waiting to scare people by jumping towards them.
wow. must be very heavy to wear this costume. especially the jetpack.
My friends, thank you all for the kind words. It’s pretty stable thanks to hot glue and Velcro. (Actually, that sounds kind of kinky.) It’s light for the most part. All elements, even the strap added to the gun, are 0 LEGO. It’s not heavy compared to my Vader but the most problematic thing about it is the jumpsuit, it’s too short for me and makes me hunch over.

Simon does a great job of building that pieces don’t fall off that often; for instance his gun has a lot of ingenious Technic building put into it, that he encourages people to pick it up & look at it. At one show, he loved disassembling a lightsaver that he built for his Darth Vader costume, and showed people how it was constructed.
He’s brought in his Boba-Fett costume to club meetings (long before what you see above, so it’s nice to see it more constructed), but you don’t realize it from looking at the picture, but around his belt are Duplo Treasure chests! They were on the Orlando PaB wall a few months ago.
@onetwobrick the jet pack is surprisingly light weight!

Actually Boba has four lines in ESB. They are:
“As you wish.”
“He’s no good to me dead.”
“What if he doesn’t survive? He’s worth a lot to me.”
“Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold.”
But anyway, great job!!!
^ I’ll withhold my sarcastic comments and simply thank you for the correction. ;) Off to fix my post…
