Jaw-dropping LEGO Pirates movie made with MINDSTORMS NXT

Nearly all LEGO movies we feature here on The Brothers Brick are animated with stop-motion. NeXTSTORM has instead programmed a LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT brick for every single element of motion in this LEGO Pirates movie.

Awesome tip, Dylan!

I can’t think of a way of sufficiently saying how incredible this is. I was so struck dumb that I was not going to post. Like the others who have posted I was tempted to just post an “OMG” or similar.

But then I was concerned – often the number of posts on an item is seen to reflect the popularity or depth of feeling for a particular model, so if we were all struck dumb by the brilliance of this one – there might be very few posts therefore giving the creator a false impression of apathy and disinterest.

This is so brilliant – I hope it can be put on display in a shop window somewhere for all to see. It is so great and so much work.

This post being my vote for a WOW or OMG!

OK, so I just re-read my post. It’s a bit wordy. I should not be allowed on the internet when I am functioning on only a few hours sleep!

NeXTSTORM continues to amaze me with his Mindstorms creations, I just can’t get enough of those highly original and beautifully executed robots of his. Keep up the great work!

    That is absolutely fantastic.

Despite the quality of the build itself, the best thing about it for me is the presentation. Too many times there are brilliant Mindstorms creations posted as blurry videos with no intro or explanation. This MOC is enhanced immeasurably by the excellent video itself.

:O This is simply one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a long time.
